Why cookies are used
Cookies are small records stored in your browser. Academy uses them for sign-in and language selection. The display theme is stored separately in localStorage. The current public pages do not include advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers.
Account sign-in
The __Host-ac_sess cookie maintains an authenticated session on the secure site. Its lifetime is up to 7 days; the server may end the session earlier. Page JavaScript cannot read it and it is sent over HTTPS. Signing out clears it. Local development environments may use a different name.
Language and appearance
The ac_lang cookie remembers Russian or English for up to 365 days after it is set or updated. The academy-theme localStorage entry stores the light or dark theme without a fixed expiry, until you change it or clear site data. These entries do not contain lesson answers or your password.
Embedded video
The YouTube player connects only after you select play and uses youtube-nocookie.com. Once started, the external service receives connection information; its own policies govern further processing. If you do not want to connect to YouTube, do not start the embedded player.
Managing browser storage
Your browser settings let you delete cookies and site data or block storage. Removing the sign-in cookie ends access from that browser; removing language and theme entries resets preferences. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent sign-in. Clearing browser data does not delete your account, learning records or certificates from the server.
